Yes I just spoke in spanish on blog, sue me. Anywho I'm new to this blog thing so
apologies to those of you who are expecting some amazing writing from me.
Well here it goes...
A Fat Turkey VS. Jolly ol' St. Nick
Since we are approaching the holiday season I thought I would share my thoughts
on a topic that has bothered me since the beginning of time.
Why is it that immediately after Halloween it changes to Christmas time?
Is this just some Americanized way of living now days?
I work in a grocery store, so no surprise that I would see this sort of thing a lot,
yesterday while I was at work a customer had complained about
all the Christmas candy and decorations being put up already (finally someone else gets it) and management couldn't only respond with,
"This is a RETAIL store, Thanksgiving is not marketable."
Notice the emphasis on the retail part, is this what things are coming to?
The retail industry controlling which holidays should be at the forefront while the rest just diminish and become tossed aside.
Sure, it's Christmas, I happen to love Christmas, tis a wonderful holiday,
but I would like to not be sick of the whole christmasy spirit thing before December even gets here.
So there you have it, there's my thoughts for the day.
Stay frosty.
